However, we did discover this motel in Warrnambool.

The motel has free parking and WIFI, tennis court, cable or satellite TV, with some rooms also having a kitchenette.

Dunkeld is a lovely small town in the Grampians with amazing scenery, and some amazing arts and crafts.

The multi-award winning Wickens Restaurant with its 1.2HA kitchen garden is and just happens to be part of the Royal Mail Hotel.

The hotel has several different accommodation options including the Mt Sturgeon Cottages with 1 or 2-bedrooms; featured on their main website.

They are dog friendly, but are around 3KM from the hotel.

These cottages are renovated but without TV or phone reception, which my actually sound like bliss if wanting to get away from it all.

Dogs are subject to prior approval and do attract an additional cost.

Famous for its old buildings, many are from the 1850’s onwards when thanks to the Gold Rush Clunes was actually the 5th largest town in the colony in its heyday.
