Note: Firstly, Kangaroo Island does permit dogs (and cats) onto the island when travelling with their owners, such as using the ferry from Cape Jervis. They are not permitted in any of the parks or park facilities on the island; which means around 1/3 of the island prohibits cats and dogs.
Kangaroo Island is also known as Karta, “The island of the dead” and sadly that name took on a new meaning after the 2020 bushfires. Tourism and agriculture, including a southern rock lobster fishery are major contributors to the local economy.
This park has an accommodation mix of camping and caravan sites along with cabins and advertises as dog friendly. They are in a bushland setting on Nepean Bay with a safe children’s beach.
