Worrolong is a semi-rural locality on the outskirts of Mt Gambier.
We have chosen this property as being like a resort from a dog’s perspective. There is 5-acres of land to enjoy, 2 cottages for accommodation (1 x 1-bedroom & 1 x 2-bedroom) that well-trained dogs are able to come inside, or enjoy outside in their secured yards.
It is a small working farm; other animals will be around. The cottages are self-contained, right down to BBQ’s, wood fires and even spa baths.
Mountain Barker is a city set in the Adelaide Hills and around 33KM to the Adelaide CBD. It has a beautiful tree-lined main street with its various shops, cafés and boutiques.
This park has dog friendly accommodation in their powered caravan sites only; pets are not permitted in the cabins.
Facilities include free gas BBQ’s, playground and free WIFI.
Paringa is a small town in the Riverland region; growing produce such as grapes, almonds, citrus and stone fruit. It is considered as a part of the larger town of Renmark, 4KM downstream.
This park is dog friendly and they must be kept under control and not be roaming the grounds.
Facilities here include a Camp Kitchen, laundry, BBQ, solar heated swimming pool and free WIFI.
This city is in the SE corner of South Australia, is the 2nd largest city for the state and is situated around 450KM SE of Adelaide. It is an ideal base for road trips to places such as Robe, Penola and Coonawarra. It is also famous for its Blue Lake, situated next door to the 27-acre park of our featured holiday park.
This park is dog friendly, subject to availability and at the managers discretion and you must call the park direct to enquire before booking. If approved, they permit 1 dog per cabin and 2 dogs per site. The park has designated areas for you to walk your dog.

Barossa Valley is a major wine and food growing area and is made up of towns such as Angaston, Nuriootpa and Tanunda. It is also famous for its 19th century stone buildings and churches that reflect the German Lutheran migrants from that era. It is a drive of around 50-minutes NE from Adelaide.

Hahndorf is a small town in the Adelaide Hills, around a 1-hour drive from Adelaide. It is famous for it’s German-style buildings after being settled by German Lutheran migrants in the 19th century. It is an important and popular tourist spot and has been announced as South Australia’s most pet friendly destination as well as No. 3 for Australia and No. 21 for worldwide.
The tourist park has camping and caravan sites as dog friendly accommodation options. They cannot be in any of the other accommodation. All bookings are subject to availability and at the managers discretion.
Facilities at the park include a Camp Kitchen, BBQ’s, laundry, playground, swimming pool (in Summer only) and there is an onsite bistro.
Port MacDonnell, originally known as Ngaranga is SA’s southernmost town. It is situated around 28KM south from Mt Gambier and around 477KM SE from Adelaide. The permanent population is around 1,000 but this swells in the summer months due to all the attractions such as climate, beaches, fishing and diving; as this area is well known for its Rock Lobsters.
This tourist park has dog friendly camping sites available all year round and with no pet surcharge. They offer a Camp Kitchen, BBQ’s, and a coin-operated laundry.
If you fancy a stay in Airlie Beach a short step away from all the tourist then Bella Vista on Nara is an ideal spot. Staying in a private home with pet friendly accommodation Whitsundays area doesn’t have a huge choice. A property such as this will be very popular as well as being a more relaxed way to enjoy your stay.

This camping ground is only 10km from the Lawn Hill National Park and around 50 km from the famous World Heritage listed Fossil Fields. It adjoins Lawn Hill Creek, which has year-round water for that hard-earned swim at the end of the day.
This is no-frills camping as there is no generator power to the camp sites.

They do have pet friendly campsites although they are not permitted inside any of the camping ground’s onsite accommodation.

irstly, Cooktown is Crocodile Country so keep yourself and your dog safe; read the warning signs that are around the area. On the flipside, Cooktown is home to the beautiful Cooktown orchid, floral emblem for Queensland.
Cooktown Caravan Park is dog friendly; their site says ‘Pets welcome – just ask’ and prior to making your booking would be a good time to do so.
They do have a swimming pool and free WIFI which you could put to use while dinner is cooking in the camp kitchen.
When looking for somewhere a bit different with pet friendly accommodation Far North Queensland has its own unique style. Cooktown is as far north as may will venture with their dog onboard and it is well worth the effort to drive here.
