Lake Kununurra is actually a man-made reservoir that is part of the Ord River Valley. It does contain fresh water crocodiles; although a 3M salt water crocodile was spotted there in 2014. It is a well-used fishing and boating spot.

Port Hedland is the 2nd largest town in the Pilbara region and is around 1,624KM NE from Perth within mining being the major contributor to the local economy. Minerals in the area are iron ore, salt, manganese as well as natural gas. Livestock; both beef and sheep are also major industries for the region.

One major attraction near Cervantes are The Pinnacles. Being in The Nambung National Park, this excludes dogs being allowed in the area. However, at Lot 809 Bradley Loop, in Cervantes the Rangers Station offers free kennels to leave your dog while you visit the park.
