Even though we haven’t even got to the end of 2020 yet, we wanted to list the best pet friendly accommodation NSW, but in saying that, what a horrendous year it has been.
COVID-19 has obviously needed to have many restrictions in place due to the number of people who have been at risk, along with those that actually tested positive, as well as the sad loss of lives around the country and overseas.
On top of that, so many people have lost their jobs, including those where the business has closed down either temporarily or for good.
That has resulted in many people not having enough funds to pay rent, mortgages, school fees, car loans, credit card bills, utility bills and even to have enough money to buy groceries and to put a meal on the table.
Mental health concerns are also prominent in the news because of all the above factors and how they impact on people.
Prior to COVID we had the devastating bush fires from late 2019, right through the Christmas and New Year season and on into early 2020.
The loss of lives, homes, businesses, amenities, farmland and forests, domestic animals and livestock as well as native wildlife was so horrific, day after day.
We also saw some awesome acts of human kindness and generosity from every day people through to celebrities with colossal amounts of money raised and some amazing entertainment to raise funds and to support affected areas.
Along the way there were also periods of colossal rainfall, that helped quell many of the bush fires, but they also did harm in the form of flooding and erosion in places. Mother nature knows no bounds sure was in all of our minds this year.
Those bush fires hit in so many areas around the country and in particular the various fires in New South Wales seemed to cause so much devastation and loss of life.
People in those areas were at very early stages of rebuilding their lives, homes and communities just as COVID-19 hit.
At that early stage there had been a groundswell of media and community support to help those communities by ‘Holidaying at home’ this year.
That never really happened due to the self-isolation restrictions; but now we are closer to the point where it can be on the agenda again.
Due to the economic recession that is now upon us all, that means that money is extra tight, and not as many people will be able to afford the cost of a holiday.
However, we should all encourage and praise those who can do their bit by spending money on the holiday at home this year.
What we have decided to do with this Blog is to find some different ‘Holidaying at home’ options that incorporate dogs, as a way of recognizing the importance of animals in our lives, acknowledging that separation anxiety in our pets is high due to the events of this year.

Many of the sites ask for dogs to be registered (some charge a fee, others don’t); make sure you mention your dog when booking to avoid any issues when you arrive for your holiday. In most cases you need to bring your own dog bed; make sure you confirm that when booking.
It is also a good idea before heading off to make sure your dog’s vaccinations, flea and worm treatments are up to date.

Camp sites available in this tourist park right on the edge of the beach. Powered and unpowered sites available.
Dogs are not allowed in any of the cabins.
Some off-season camping sites are designated pet-friendly; advance prior approval from park management is required and restrictions apply. You will have to complete a pet owner agreement and follow the rules set out in the agreement during your stay.
As far as dog friendly accommodation with pool goes, there is no pool onsite but you are very close to the famous North Beach Bathers Pavilion for a new experience.
