Maybe you have been thinking about getting a dog for some time and wondering would I be a good dog owner; perhaps it is as a result of a promise made to a family member; it could even be that Pet Shelter adverts online or on TV have tugged at your heartstrings.

Vegetable and Banana Strips

Vegetable and Banana Strips

I have to admit it but I am not a big fan of baked Banana in things like Muffins or Bread. However, that is using human recipes.

The Mindiampets recipe for their Vegetable and Banana Strips is a totally recipe that incorporates Rolled Oats, Sweet Potato, Carrots,

Applesauce as well as the Banana for what ends up almost like the Fruit Leathers we had to eat as kids.

My dog is the official taste-tester and sure seems to like treat time these days.

Chicken Parmesan Cookies

Chicken Parmesan Cookies

These savory flavored Dog Biscuit treats fill the house with awesome smells when cooking. I have to keep my dog (4-year old Beagle named Oscar) outside when I am baking them as he would be inside begging otherwise.

The Parmesan is the key ingredient for the aroma, but the Chicken and other ingredients all add to what is a delicious treat for Oscar.

Apple and Carrot Delight Cookies

Apple and Carrot Delight Cookies

I would never have thought to make Dog treats using Apple and Carrot.

However, I have just made my third batch as I was so chuffed with how the first batch turned out I gave some to other dog-owner friends.

There is a range of great ingredients and I am sure that the Brown Sugar and Rolled Oats are also part of why they are so popular with the dogs.

These are the first treats I have made using the Mindiampetss recipes but they won’t be my last.

Beef and Vege Balls – Beef dog treats recipe

Beef and Vege Balls dog treat

My dog (Airedale) doesn’t really have a sweet tooth, so this Mindiampets Beef and Vege Balls recipe is ideal as something savory instead.

I made my first batch yesterday and used the Organic Beef and Vegetable baby food as the recipe suggested.

I am going to have a go at making the Beef and Vegetable Stew soon, so that next time I can puree some of that instead of buying the baby food. I love that idea of making as much of the product at home myself as possible.

Glazed Pumpkin and Peanut Butter Cookies

homemade peanut butter dog treats

I have made Peanut Butter Cookies for my dog before, but this recipe intrigued me as it also had Pumpkin as well as a Glaze over the top. It is such an easy recipe to follow and Glaze is such a way of making the treat look even better.

I’m sure that my dog agrees as she comes running whenever I open the cookie jar.

I’m looking forward to trying a few other of the Mindiampets recipes based on my success with this Glazed Pumpkin and Peanut Butter cookie treat.

Homemade Chicken Jerky For Dogs

Homemade Chicken Jerky For Dogs

I have often used Jerky products for my dog (German Shepherd) as boredom can set in, especially when home alone.

I have made the Chicken version and also the Sweet Potato one for a bit of variety and my dog goes crazy over them; yet they are so easy to make.

I bake them in the oven like the recipe says, but I am also going to have a go at making them using my food dehydrator.
